About the Georgia Solar Tour
On October 3, 2009 as a part of the American Solar Energy Society's National Solar Tour, the Georgia Solar Tour will showcase locations in metro Atlanta and sites across Georgia. Focusing on energy-saving techniques and sustainability through building design the tour inspires people across the nation to make sustainable energy choices that help lower costs, support energy independence and reduce carbon emissions.
Last year close to 140,000 attendees visited some 5,000 buildings in 3,000 participating communities across the nation. The Solar Tour provides helpful, real-world examples of solar projects and how to save money with federal, state, and local incentives. The Tour, educational in nature, will showcase solar systems installed at homes, business, government buildings, educational institutions and faith-based facilities. Additionally, the Tour will share information regarding state, federal and utility-based incentives specific to Georgia. We invite you to join the renewable energy revolution by participating in the Georgia Solar Tour to see how solar power can and does work in Georgia.
