Preparing great food requires the use of all five senses – sight, touch, sound, taste and smell. Scientific studies tell us that women have some advantages over men in the sense-department being better at identifying scents and even having more taste buds on their tongues. There are also differences in men and women’s sensibilities, including how each respond to aesthetic stimuli, how they interpret menus and their individual execution styles. From the rooter to the tooter, waste no more. This Master Studio will dive into the world of minimizing waste in our cooking, with a focus on applying this mindset while working the grill. During this Master Studio, you will learn not not only how to cook whole animal-style, in a sustainable - and delicious - way, but also how to utilize nature's elements in your dishes. The Studio will also focus on fully embracing the flavor of fire by charring vegetables, burning beef, even infusing charcoal into oil.  From this Master Studio, you can go forth with with confidence with new grilling skills and a commitment to using the "un-useable" odd bits to make your grilling creations as memorable as they are delicious.

The  Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is the creation of the dynamic Atlanta entrepreneurial duo, Elizabeth Feichter and Dominique Love. The pair set their sights on a building an epicurean weekend to celebrate the rich food and beverage traditions of the South from Texas to the District of Columbia and using Atlanta as the convener of the South's best culinary talent and flavors. The result of their efforts is an education entertaining and enriching Southern weekend.

LEARNING EXPERIENCES

Festival weekend will offer guests close to 50 carefully-crafted Learning Experiences that include smart and entertaining cooking and cocktail demonstrations, wine and food tasting seminars and Master Studios all designed by the Festival’s esteemed Advisory Council. Master Studios, a new initiative in 2018, are immersive, hands-on experiences guided by award-winning food and drink talent.

The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival Tasting Tents are designed to take guests on an epicurean journey through the South with curated “tasting trails” showcasing great food and drink items from across the region and from other Southern regions around the globe like Southern Europe, South Africa, South America, Southern Hemisphere and South-of-the-Border.

The Festival experience continues into the evening with special chef dinners and signature parties at private homes, restaurants and special unique venues around the city.
